Fugitive Recovery Course Descriptions

Fugitive Recovery Field Operations Course CTS-915
This is a 4 day (32 hour) course limited to 12 students. The primary goal of this course is to develop the Skills and Techniques necessary to safely work in the field of Fugitive Recovery. This course is perfect for the recovery agents that want to develop, improve or refine their field operational skills. Individuals wishing to enter the field of Bail Enforcement will develop a strong foundation in the skills necessary to safely excel in this industry. Students will develop the skills, and attitudes essential to surviving a lethal threat or confrontation while in the performance of their duties. Critical decision making and survival are the cornerstones to all the practical exercises included in this course.

This course IS NOT designed to teach you how to administratively Skip Trace or Track Down Fugitives. There are many sources and ways for you to gain those investigative skills. Our program teaches life survival skills for the street. Fugitive Recovery Agents are not Law Enforcement officers and the knowledge gained in this course will allow you to determine when it is prudent or more appropriate to get law enforcement involved.

Lethal encounter case studies are discussed, practical exercises in verbal intervention, suspect control, managing “crisis level stress”, low light shooting, downed agent recovery drills, and tactical medicine are covered. The course will include both classroom presentations and live fire range exercises. This course will conclude with a Course Review and Examination. Specific areas of instruction include:

  • Tactical Pistol
  • Firearms Certification
  • Taser ® Certification
  • OC Certification
  • Impact Weapon Certification
  • Building Searches
  • Law Enforcement Liaison
  • Street Survival
  • Liability of Handcuffing
  • High Risk Entry
  • Arrest Techniques
  • Prisoner Transport
  • Low-Light Shooting
  • Use of Force
  • Equipment Inventory & Application

All instruction materials, range time, and targets are provided by Center Target Sports. The student is required to provide a handgun, two magazines or speed loaders, eye and ear protection, flash light or weapons mounted light, a billed baseball type cap, 300 rounds of ammunition, and a strong side holster.

Students must have a current CCW permit, be a sworn LE officer, professional recovery agent, or pass a police background check prior to registration.

The cost of this course is $500.00 pre-registered. This course is available to private groups or companies at a reduced rate by special arrangement.
